Accident – Death – Obituary News : In a tragic incident that occurred in Katuridhua village under Bonai police station in Sundargarh district, a four-year-old boy named Sandeep Oram lost his life, while his elder sister, Alisa (12), was critically injured after being bitten by a venomous snake. The incident took place on Wednesday night while the family was asleep at their residence.
Sunil Oram, a farmer by profession, resides with his wife and three children in Katuridhua village. The family was fast asleep when the venomous snake attacked Sandeep and Alisa. Upon realizing the situation, Sunil managed to kill the snake and immediately rushed both the children to Bonai subdivisional hospital for medical assistance.
Tragically, Sandeep was declared brought dead upon arrival at the hospital. However, Alisa’s condition was described as critical, prompting the medical staff to transfer her to Rourkela Government Hospital (RGH) for further treatment. Authorities from the Bonai police station also arrived at the hospital to conduct a thorough inquiry into the matter.
Following the completion of the post-mortem examination, the body of Sandeep was handed over to the grieving parents. R K Maharana, assistant sub-inspector of police at Bonai police station, stated, “We have registered a case of an unnatural death and are actively investigating the matter to ascertain all the details surrounding this unfortunate incident.”
This heartbreaking incident adds to the recent spate of tragedies in the region, including the loss of ten individuals due to suspected heatstroke in Rourkela. Director Ganesh Prasad Das confirmed the names of the deceased, which included six women. Among them were individuals like Ranjit Sahu, Ganesh Tanty, Manju Barla, Muni Kumbhar, Mangala Samasi, and Bicha Mahali, highlighting the severity of the situation.
As the community mourns the loss of young Sandeep Oram and prays for the speedy recovery of Alisa, it serves as a stark reminder of the dangers posed by wildlife encounters in rural areas. Authorities continue to urge vigilance and caution among residents to prevent such tragic incidents from reoccurring in the future..
