Ramon Smith, aged 35, was extradited back to the UK from Warren, Maine, where he was apprehended on an outstanding arrest warrant for charges of murder and criminal possession of a firearm related to the death of 18-year-old Joshua McClelland. The tragic event occurred on March 25, 2007, when patrol officers responded to a report of a gunshot victim in the vicinity of 250 Blue Hills Ave. at approximately 6:30 p.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim, identified as McClelland, who had sustained fatal gunshot wounds. McClelland was rushed to Saint Francis Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead due to the severity of his injuries.
Following the incident, the Hartford Police Major Crimes and Crime Scene Divisions took charge of the investigation and meticulously examined the crime scene.
