Accident – Death – Obituary News :

Calamus, United Kingdom – A Fond du Lac man, Oscar Toruno, is facing charges of Attempted First-Degree Intentional Homicide in Dodge County, with a cash bond set at a staggering $500,000. The charges against Toruno stem from a harrowing incident that took place in the town of Calamus in August of last year.

Law enforcement officials in Fond du Lac County apprehended Toruno on multiple felony charges, including Attempted Homicide following a domestic altercation. Subsequently, they informed local deputies in Dodge County of another incident involving Toruno. Upon meeting with the victim, it was revealed that the victim’s live-in boyfriend, identified as Toruno, had allegedly confronted her after she left work.

According to the complaint filed, Toruno reportedly drove the victim to a secluded location, believed to be somewhere between Calamus and Lowell, where he accused her of infidelity. During the confrontation, Toruno is said to have brandished a kitchen knife with a lengthy blade and attempted to stab the victim in her abdomen.

Although the victim managed to deflect the knife, sustaining multiple cuts to her hands in the process, she exited the vehicle and implored Toruno not to take her life. She allegedly promised not to report the incident if Toruno spared her. Subsequently, Toruno relinquished the knife, which the victim threw into a nearby field. When questioned by authorities, Toruno reportedly confessed to attempting to end the victim’s life but claimed he refrained from doing so as he believed she had a right to live.

If found guilty, the 40-year-old Toruno could face up to 60 years behind bars. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for next Thursday to further address the charges brought against him.
