ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – A suspect believed to be involved in a fatal shooting at an Atlanta dollar store in February has been apprehended by authorities, according to the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident took place on February 2nd at the Family Dollar store located at 5425 Riverdale Road. Law enforcement officers were called to the scene following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered the lifeless body of 20-year-old Lem Johnson IV, a resident of Jonesboro, who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.

Following an extensive investigation, authorities identified Montevious Garrison as the prime suspect in the case. Arrest warrants were issued for Garrison on charges of murder during the commission of a felony, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm, and reckless conduct. Clayton County Sheriff Levon Allen also added Garrison to his Top Ten Most Wanted List.

Sheriff Allen revealed that Garrison was apprehended by the Newnan Police on Thursday evening in response to a report of a suspicious individual.

“The Newnan Police Department encountered Montevious Garrison, who was found in possession of a dangerous weapon with a switch, during the course of their investigation into a suspicious person report,” stated Sheriff Allen.

Garrison was taken into custody without any resistance and is currently being held at the Coweta County Jail on local charges. He will soon be transferred to the Clayton County Jail, where he will await a court hearing.
