Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) – On June 1, 2024, the Missoula Police Department responded to a report of theft from a local store. The Loss Prevention Officer (LPO) reported that a male suspect had stolen a flashlight and fled in a vehicle.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers located the vehicle and observed a female passenger, identified as 46-year-old Monica Green. The driver of the vehicle, who had outstanding warrants for his arrest, matched the description of the male suspect involved in the theft. He was promptly arrested by the officers.

Further investigation revealed that Green was the registered owner of the vehicle and was on probation. A probation officer requested a search of Green and her vehicle, leading to the discovery of a baggie of methamphetamine tucked in Green’s bra, along with a $20 bill.

During a search of the vehicle, officers found two more baggies of methamphetamine in the glove box, each containing 3.5 grams of the substance, commonly referred to as an “eight ball” or an eighth of an ounce. A digital scale was also discovered in the glove box, along with approximately $1,149 in cash in Green’s wallet.

Additionally, several weapons, including small knives, a taser, and a hatchet, were visible inside the vehicle. It is a common practice for individuals involved in illegal drug activities to carry weapons to protect their drugs.

Green was read her Miranda rights and agreed to speak to the officers. She claimed ownership of all items in the vehicle, including the drugs. As a result, Green was arrested and transported to the Missoula County Detention Facility, where she is facing charges of felony criminal possession with intent to distribute. Her bond has been set at $25,000.
