Bengaluru, 7th June 2024 – A heart-wrenching incident unfolded near Electronics City on the outskirts of Bengaluru, where a sister and brother lost their lives in a fatal accident involving a speeding water tanker. The victims, 20-year-old Madhu Mita and 18-year-old Ranjan, residents of Kempe Gowda Layout in Doddanagamangala, met with a tragic end while commuting on a scooter.
The unfortunate episode transpired when Ranjan was escorting his sister Madhu Mita to her college, SSMRV College, on her first day. Tragedy struck as the speeding water tanker made contact with the mirror of their two-wheeler, causing the siblings to be thrown under the rear wheel of the tanker, resulting in their immediate demise.
Authorities have obtained CCTV footage of the incident, while eyewitnesses attribute the accident to the reckless driving of the water tanker operator. The bereaved mother of the young victims has made a heartfelt plea to the authorities to enforce speed regulations in the area to avert such tragedies in the future. She also implored two-wheeler riders to prioritise safety by wearing helmets and practising caution on the roads.
Overwhelmed with grief, the mother tearfully expressed her anguish, questioning how she would cope with the loss of both her children. The community mourns the untimely loss of Madhu Mita and Ranjan, reminding everyone of the importance of road safety and responsible driving.
