Teenage Boys Charged in Chicago Robbery Incident
CHICAGO (CBS) — Four teenage boys have been charged in connection with a robbery and an attempted robbery on the city’s Northwest Side Thursday afternoon.
Chicago police apprehended the group, consisting of two 16-year-olds and two 17-year-olds, just before 5:30 p.m. in the 800 block of North Hermitage Avenue.
All four individuals are facing one felony count of aggravated robbery with an indication of a firearm and attempted robbery. Additionally, one of the 17-year-olds has been charged with an additional felony count of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.
According to the authorities, the group was identified as the culprits who stole property from a 24-year-old man after implying they were armed in the 1000 block of North Honore Street.
The teenagers have also been implicated in the attempted robbery of a 32-year-old man just 10 minutes prior in the 1700 block of West Cortez Street.
Law enforcement officers swiftly located the group and placed them under arrest.
