A tragic incident unfolded in Kansas City as a 32-year-old woman lost her life in a fatal collision on an interstate exit ramp. The pedestrian, identified as Jaimie J. Russell, was on the brink of celebrating her upcoming birthday when the unfortunate accident occurred.
The Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department revealed the heartbreaking news on Friday, June 7. Russell met with a fatal collision in the early hours of the morning along I-49, leaving the community in shock and mourning.
According to authorities, the tragic incident took place just a few weeks before Russell’s June 20 birthday. At approximately 5:40 a.m. on Tuesday, June 4, emergency services responded to the southbound exit ramp from I-49 to Blue Ridge Blvd. following reports of a collision.
Upon arrival, emergency responders discovered that Russell had been struck by a Dodge Challenger. Despite efforts to save her, Russell succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead hours later at a nearby medical facility.
The driver of the Challenger, who remained at the scene following the collision, has been fully cooperative with the authorities as they continue their investigation into the tragic incident.
