A 24-year-old man, Jacob William Fairley, was arrested by the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department earlier this week following a dramatic police pursuit.

The incident took place around 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday when members of Harrison County’s Narcotics Division attempted to stop a GMC pickup truck on 30th Avenue near 13th street.

Fairley, the driver of the truck, allegedly refused to stop and attempted to flee from the authorities. During the pursuit, Fairley’s truck collided with an investigator’s vehicle, causing significant damage, according to the sheriff’s department.

Despite the police pursuit, Fairley continued to evade the authorities and even drove onto train tracks. Authorities reported that Fairley was discarding suspected methamphetamine out of his vehicle during the chase.

Eventually, the truck came to a stop and Fairley was apprehended. Upon searching the vehicle, deputies discovered what they described as “felony amounts of methamphetamine scattered throughout the interior.”

Fairley now faces charges of possession with intent to distribute meth, felony fleeing, and tampering with and destroying evidence.

Judge Brandon Ladner set Fairley’s bond at $105,000.
