Accident – Death – Obituary News :

Authorities from the Pennsylvania State Police Lamar Station have announced plans to conduct a Sobriety Checkpoint in Clinton County during the upcoming 4th of July Holiday period. The purpose of this checkpoint is to ensure the safety of all road users by identifying and apprehending drivers who may be under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Commercial Vehicle Crash in Gallagher Township

A commercial vehicle crash took place on June 5, 2024, on Route 664 along the Coudersport Pike in Gallagher Township. The driver, identified as Edward Paloskey Jr., 64, from Renovo, was operating a log truck at the time of the incident. Paloskey’s vehicle collided with utility wires suspended above the roadway, causing it to veer off the road and into a ditch on the right side. Fortunately, Paloskey escaped unharmed, although the vehicle sustained significant damage. The road was closed to traffic due to the presence of hazardous power lines, necessitating the deployment of emergency services.

Volunteer Firefighter Involved in Separate Incident

During the response to the commercial vehicle crash, a volunteer firefighter en route to the scene encountered a downed power line with their vehicle. The firefighter’s vehicle sustained minor damage, but the operator emerged unscathed. This incident was treated as a separate crash by the Pennsylvania State Police.

Harassment Incident in Mill Hall

On June 3, 2024, PSP Lamar responded to a call regarding a physical altercation at 315 South Water Street in Mill Hall. The altercation involved Anthony Magazu, 42, from Mill Hall, and a female victim aged 28, also from Mill Hall. Magazu was subsequently cited for harassment in connection with the incident.

Driver Arrested for DUI in Avis

In the early hours of June 2, 2024, PSP Lamar initiated a traffic stop in Avis involving a bicyclist who had failed to stop at multiple intersections. Upon further investigation, it was revealed that the operator, identified as John Hoffman, 26, from Jersey Shore, was operating the bicycle under the influence of alcohol. Hoffman was arrested, and criminal charges were filed through District Court 25-3-01.

Motor Vehicle Crash in Greene Township

On June 2, 2024, a crash occurred on I-80 near mile marker 185.8 in Greene Township. The driver, Zachary Degler, 30, from Byron, GA, lost control of his 2007 Jeep Compass, veering across all lanes of travel before colliding with a culvert. The vehicle overturned, coming to a rest facing east. Despite not wearing a seatbelt, Degler escaped the crash without sustaining any injuries.

Crash in Lamar Township Leaves Driver Injured

On June 1, 2024, a crash occurred on I-80 West in Lamar Township involving Rachel Arcure, 27, from Freeland, PA. Arcure lost control of her vehicle, striking a rock embankment and overturning before coming to a stop off the roadway. Arcure suffered suspected serious injuries as a result of the crash.

Police Respond to Altercation in Pine Creek Township

On May 31, 2024, PSP Lamar was called to Big Pine Lane in Pine Creek Township following an altercation involving a 44-year-old male victim from Jersey Shore. While criminal charges were declined, the specifics of the incident were not disclosed in the police report.

Alleged Harassment Incident in South Renovo

On May 30, 2024, PSP Lamar investigated an alleged harassment incident in South Renovo involving a 25-year-old female from Renovo and a 22-year-old female from the same area. The 25-year-old was charged with harassment through District Court 25-3-03 after threatening physical harm to the victim.

Found Property in Flemington

Authorities at PSP Lamar are seeking the owner of a Vivi Electric Bicycle found on May 28, 2024, at 651 Woods Avenue in Flemington. Anyone with information regarding the ownership of the bicycle is urged to contact PSP Lamar.

Drug Possession Arrest in Porter Township

On May 20, 2024, PSP Lamar responded to reports of an erratic driver on Nittany Valley Drive in Porter Township. The driver, identified as Anne Spagnolo, 41, from Pittsburg, was found to be under the influence of drugs and was arrested for DUI. Charges were subsequently filed through District Court 25-3-01.

Vehicle Theft Incident in Dunnstable Township

On April 28, 2024, PSP Lamar investigated a report of a stolen vehicle in Dunnstable Township. The stolen vehicle, which had been left unlocked in a residential driveway on Cider Press Road, was located being driven on Main Street in Lock Haven. Two juvenile males, aged 15 and 16, were charged with theft of the vehicle and tools from the vehicle.

Childline Report Leads to Assault Investigation in Allison Township

A Childline report received by PSP Lamar detailed a domestic incident involving assault with a weapon on Renovo Road in Allison Township. The incident allegedly occurred between April 1, 2023, and April 30, 2023. The investigation into this incident is ongoing, with further details yet to be disclosed.
