TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) – Two individuals from Topeka, Kansas, have been arrested for possession of methamphetamine in Jackson County, Kansas. The incident took place on Wednesday, June 5, when a deputy from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office spotted a gray Honda Accord with a Kansas license plate near Mayetta at around 11 p.m.

Upon checking the vehicle’s registration, the deputy discovered that it was expired, despite having a current 2025 sticker. Suspicious of illegal activities, a Jackson County K-9 unit was brought in to conduct a search, which led to the discovery of illegal narcotics, drug paraphernalia, and several open alcohol containers inside the vehicle.

The driver, identified as Earl T. Kuhn III, aged 61, and the passenger, identified as David W. Brooks, aged 58, both residents of Topeka, were taken into custody by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.
