LEICESTER — In the early hours of Friday morning, the Leicester Police Department swiftly responded to a 911 call reporting a disturbance on Moose Hill Road, resulting in the apprehension of a local man on multiple serious charges.

The incident unfolded at approximately 12:42 a.m. when authorities received reports of an unspecified disturbance at 400 Moose Hill Road.

A subsequent emergency call was made by an individual claiming to have come under fire from a man in a pickup truck.

Collaborating with Spencer Police, Paxton Police, and Massachusetts State Police troopers, Leicester officers promptly arrived at the scene where they encountered the second 911 caller, who alleged being shot at.

Following their investigation, officers were led to 505 Moose Hill Road, where they identified and arrested 35-year-old Derek Curtis.

Curtis was taken into custody and later booked with bail set at £25,040. He initially faced charges of armed assault to murder and engaging in paid sexual activities.

Appearing before East Brookfield District Court on the morning of May 24, Curtis underwent further legal proceedings.

Subsequent investigative efforts, including additional interviews and the execution of a search warrant at Curtis’ residence, led to the imposition of additional charges.

On May 31, Curtis was arraigned on four counts of possession of explosive devices, two counts of possession of Class E substances, one count of possession of Class B substances, and possession of fireworks.
