Carlos Manuel Rosales : “Family Member Arrested in Fatal Miami Shooting”

MIAMI (WSVN) – Authorities have arrested a suspect in connection with the tragic death of a 62-year-old man who heroically sacrificed his life to protect his granddaughter during a home invasion in Miami’s Little Havana neighbourhood.

The incident took place at 753 SW 5th Street on Thursday morning, where Luciano Matute was found with a gunshot wound to his chest. Despite efforts by officers and medical personnel, Matute succumbed to his injuries at JMH Trauma.

Suspect identified and Apprehended

The alleged shooter, identified as 38-year-old Carlos Manuel Rosales, is said to be the step-uncle of the victim’s granddaughter. Following the shooting, Rosales fled the scene in a white Toyota pickup truck but was later arrested after his vehicle was located by law enforcement.

Upon his apprehension, Rosales reportedly confessed to the murder. In addition to the charges related to the fatal shooting, he has also been arrested for lewd and lascivious molestation of a child and exhibition on a child.

Disturbing Revelation

Investigations have revealed that Rosales had been sexually abusing Matute’s 11-year-old granddaughter, who he was protecting during the home invasion. The young girl is also the suspect’s step-niece, and the abuse had reportedly been ongoing for three years.

This tragic incident has shocked the community and raised concerns about the safety of children in vulnerable situations. Authorities are urging anyone with information related to the case to come forward and assist with the ongoing investigation.
