Accident – Death – Obituary News :

Two teenagers from Qulin, aged 16, were involved in a serious four-wheeler accident on County Road 661 in Broseley, Butler County. The incident occurred when the vehicle veered off the road and collided with a tree, resulting in one of the teens being ejected from the vehicle.

Emergency services rushed to the scene, and the driver was airlifted to a St. Louis hospital with severe injuries. The passenger was also injured and was taken to a nearby hospital in Poplar Bluff for treatment. The extent of their injuries is currently unknown.

ZALMA MAN ARRESTED AFTER HIGH-SPEED POLICE CHASE

A man from Zalma, identified as 32-year-old Randell Duke, was apprehended following a reckless high-speed chase that reached speeds exceeding 100 miles per hour. The pursuit began when an officer attempted to pull over Duke, who was riding a motorcycle at 103 mph in a 55 mph zone.

During the chase, Duke ignored traffic signals, almost colliding with other vehicles. The pursuit was eventually called off, but Duke was later found by a Stoddard County Deputy after crashing the motorcycle. Duke failed a breath test, revealing a blood alcohol level of 0.107.

He confessed to evading the police and causing the crash. Duke now faces charges of resisting arrest, driving under the influence, driving with a revoked license, and reckless driving.

THREE RIVERS TO HOST CHARITY GOLF TOURNAMENT

The 11th Annual Three Rivers Endowment Trust Golf Tournament is scheduled to take place at Westwood Hills Country Club in Poplar Bluff. This four-person scramble event aims to raise funds for the Three Rivers Annual Fund, supporting various projects and initiatives that benefit TRC students.

Individual player registration costs £135, while teams can register for £550. The tournament will kick off with lunch at noon on Friday, June 21st.

MAN CHARGED AFTER ALLEGEDLY THREATENING WITH A KNIFE

On Sunday, 34-year-old Ray Armbruster was arrested for allegedly threatening multiple individuals with a knife. Law enforcement received reports of Armbruster brandishing a blade at several people, prompting a swift response.

Despite attempting to flee, Armbruster was apprehended and found in possession of a folding knife matching the description provided by witnesses. He now faces multiple charges, including unlawful weapon use, endangering a child, assault, and resisting arrest.

ROAD CLOSURES FOR PAVEMENT AND BRIDGE REPAIRS

Drivers in Stoddard County should be aware of road closures on Route J today for pavement repairs. The affected area stretches from Route AA to Route 25 near Bloomfield, with work scheduled from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., weather permitting.

In Dunklin County, US Highway 62 will be reduced to one lane for bridge repairs on the St. Francis River bridge. The maintenance work will take place from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., affecting traffic between Dunklin and Clay Counties.
