A resident of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, has struck it lucky by winning $50,000 from a scratch off ticket.
The winner, known only as Paul, described his shock upon scanning the ticket and seeing the $50,000 prize: “I grabbed my phone and scanned it and when I saw $50,000, I about passed out.”
According to lottery officials, Paul purchased the ticket on a Friday but didn’t scratch it until a couple of days later when he returned home from a fishing charter.
Currently residing in a townhouse, Paul is considering using his winnings as a down payment on a house next year. Additionally, he mentioned that he may invest some of the money in pension or mutual funds and treat himself to a well-deserved trip.
The winning ticket was purchased at Mini Mart located at 2810 Bailey Road, as confirmed by lottery spokespeople.
After mandatory state and federal taxes amounting to 28 percent, Paul is set to receive approximately $36,000 from his $50,000 prize.
