Mendhar/Jammu: Elderly Man from PoK Apprehended near LoC

An elderly man from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, identified as Munir Hussain, aged 72 and a resident of Battal village in PoK, was apprehended after illegally crossing into Indian territory along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir. The incident took place at Nangi Takarai forward area near Ghora post in Mankote sector of Mendhar sub-division on Tuesday evening.

According to officials, an Army patrol spotted Hussain, who was unarmed, entering Indian territory. When challenged, he attempted to flee but was captured. No incriminating material was found on him. Preliminary questioning suggests that he might have crossed the LoC inadvertently.
