Two individuals were tragically gunned down in separate incidents in Rawalpindi district on Tuesday, as per informed sources. The bodies of the victims were promptly transported to hospitals for postmortem examinations, while the police initiated investigations and filed murder cases against the perpetrators.
Land Dispute Leads to Fratricide
In the first incident, a man shot and killed his own brother, identified as Muhammad Gulfraz, over a land dispute in the Raika Maira area on Chakri Road. The assailant, named Muhammad Afzaal, managed to escape the scene following the heinous act. Upon receiving the distress call, a substantial police presence swiftly arrived at the location, where the victim’s body was taken to the hospital for further examination.
The Chontra police have since registered a murder case against the accused individual and commenced a thorough investigation into the matter.
Old Enmity Leads to Fatal Shooting
In a separate incident, a 28-year-old man named Hashir Butt was fatally shot by an unidentified gunman in the Mahira Sangal area of Kallar Syedan. The motive behind the murder is believed to stem from an ongoing feud between the victim and the assailant.
Upon receiving reports of the incident, SDPO Kahuta Mirza Tahir Sikandar and SHO Police Station Kallar Syedan Inspector Sajjad Ul Hassan swiftly arrived at the crime scene. They gathered evidence and recorded statements from eyewitnesses. According to police reports, Hashir Butt was standing with his brother at Mahira Sangal Stop when a gunman in a car unleashed a barrage of bullets at him. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Hashir succumbed to his injuries on the way.
The deceased’s body was transferred to THQ Hospital for a postmortem examination, while the police have launched a manhunt for the perpetrator and have filed a case against them.
