Two employees were stabbed by a customer during a dispute at a convenience store in the Inland Empire late Tuesday night. The incident took place at the C2 Food Mart located at 1091 W. Valley Blvd. in the unincorporated county area of Colton.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department reported that the altercation occurred shortly before 10 p.m. when a customer identified as 45-year-old Luis Morales entered the store and made a purchase. A confrontation ensued between Morales and 20-year-old Gurjot Gill, an employee at the store. When another employee, 47-year-old Suresh Chakma, attempted to intervene, Morales brandished a knife and stabbed both employees.

Following the attack, Gill fled the store and sought refuge in a patron’s vehicle for protection. Morales, who sustained injuries during the altercation, pursued Gill outside and continued to threaten him. Both Gill and Chakma were subsequently transported to a local hospital and were reported to be in stable condition.

Another patron who witnessed Morales’ injuries drove him to an emergency room, where deputies later arrested him without incident. Morales has been booked on suspicion of attempted murder and is being held on $1 million bail.
