The incident, which took place in the Karadolo East sub-location in Ugenya sub-county, Siaya County, left villagers in shock as they witnessed the destruction of property.
According to reports from Siaya County Police Commander Cleti Kimaiyo, the suspect, Isaiah Goro, allegedly set the house ablaze after a disagreement with his wife, Grace Auma. After the argument, Auma sought refuge at her neighbor’s house for safety, only to return and find her home burnt down to ashes by her newly inherited husband.
The police managed to track down the suspect, who had gone missing after setting the house on fire. Isaiah Goro is set to be arraigned in court on charges of destruction of property. Auma reported the incident at Ratado police station, revealing that she had incurred losses estimated at KSh 54,000.
