Doti, June 5: A devastating road accident in Doti district this morning has left two individuals dead and seven others injured. The deceased have been identified as Dhauli Devi Bhattarai, aged 40, from Lekam Rural Municipality-4 in Darchula district, and three-year-old Ritika Parki from the same ward, as confirmed by Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Bhim Lal Bhattarai.
The unfortunate incident occurred when a jeep carrying nine passengers, including the driver, was en route from Darchula to Dhangadhi. Tragically, Bhattarai lost her life at the scene of the accident, while Parki succumbed to her injuries during treatment. The remaining injured individuals are currently receiving medical care at the local health post.
The community is in shock and mourning following this tragic loss of life. The authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident to determine the cause and prevent similar incidents in the future.
