Accident – Death – Obituary News :

Residents in Western Kenosha County have overwhelmingly voted in favor of a referendum for significant building updates at Central Westosha High School. The construction project, undertaken by Scherrer Construction, has been ongoing for several months, with the aim of modernizing and enhancing the school building.

However, amidst the construction activities, a troubling incident involving an employee of Scherrer Construction has come to light. Cody A. Sanders, a 29-year-old from Darien, WI, has been accused of engaging in inappropriate behavior with underage high school girls. According to a Kenosha County Sheriff’s Report, Sanders exchanged phone numbers with several underage girls and sent them inappropriate text messages.

Allegations Against Cody A. Sanders

The incident came to light when a group of high school girls at Central High School approached the school resource deputy on October 13, 2023. The girls reported that Sanders had distributed pieces of paper with his name and cell phone number to underage girls. Concerned about the situation, the girls decided to take action.

Subsequently, one of the girls devised a plan to test Sanders’ intentions by engaging in a text conversation with him. The exchanges revealed Sanders’ inappropriate requests, including asking for explicit photos in return for sending his own. Despite the girls revealing their ages, Sanders continued to engage with them, displaying concerning behavior.

Response from Central High School District

Upon learning of the allegations, Central High School District Administrator John Gendron took swift action to ensure the safety of the students. Sanders was immediately removed from the school premises, and measures were taken to prevent his return. Gendron emphasized that the safety and well-being of the students were paramount in handling the situation.

Investigation and Closure

While the police report indicated that no criminal activity was found in the case, concerns remain regarding the incident and the implications for student safety. Efforts to reach out to Scherrer Construction for comments on the matter have been unsuccessful, raising questions about the handling of the situation by the company.

As the community grapples with the aftermath of the incident, it serves as a reminder of the importance of vigilance and safeguarding the welfare of students in educational environments.
