The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department has arrested and charged a man in connection to an armed robbery at a Boost Mobile store in east Charlotte.

The robbery took place on Wednesday, April 10, just before 3 p.m. at the Boost Mobile store located on Kilborne Drive in east Charlotte.

Following the incident, WBTV aired a Crime Stoppers story highlighting the robbery. This led to multiple tips being received by the police, helping detectives identify the suspect involved in the robbery, according to Detective Jacquelyn Clyburn from CMPD Crime Stoppers.

38-year-old Charles McCaskill was identified as the suspect in the armed robbery. McCaskill has been arrested and charged with common law robbery and second-degree kidnapping.

Records from the jail show that McCaskill was booked with a $15,000 bond. However, he was able to post bail and was released from custody just two days after his arrest.
