The Nalgonda police are currently conducting a thorough investigation into the discovery of a decomposed body of a man inside a water tank in Nalgonda town. District Collector Dasari Harichandana has appointed Additional Collector of Local Bodies T Purnachandra as the inquiry officer for this incident, requesting a detailed report on the matter.

Initial findings suggest that the deceased man has been identified as Avula Vamsi Krishna, aged 27. His body was found by the Nalgonda Municipal Assistant Engineer and water linemen during a routine inspection of the tank in Ward 28 of Patabasti. The municipal staff did not find any body during their initial inspection on May 30, but discovered the remains on June 1. The tank is cleaned every 2-3 days as per regulations, and it was determined that the body had been in the tank for at least two days, showing signs of injuries. It was also revealed that Krishna had been reported missing on May 24.

The water tank in question supplies drinking water to seven localities, including the Housing Board, Indiramma and SLBC colonies, Kathalguda, Mamillaguda, Hanumannagar, and Krishnanagar.

The Nalgonda Police have opened a case and are exploring the possibility of both suicide and murder in this incident.
