The DeKalb County police responded to a call on May 24 at around 7:30 a.m. reporting a person shot near Mall Parkway in Stonecrest. Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered a woman driver who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds after crashing into a utility pole.

DeKalb detectives later identified the suspect as Kjiar Prather, aged 30, who was revealed to be the victim’s boyfriend. On Sunday, Prather was apprehended and charged with murder before being booked into the DeKalb County Jail.
