Accident – Death – Obituary News : FORT LAUDERDALE, FLA. (WSVN) – The tragic incident involving 8-year-old Ryan Amichette, who was found at the bottom of a pool in Fort Lauderdale, has left the community in shock. The older brother of the young boy, Gibson Severe, has shared heartbreaking details about the events leading up to the tragedy.

On Monday, Fort Lauderdale Police responded to a distress call regarding a child near drowning at 1143 NW 4th Ave. Ryan, who had been under the care of a nanny hired by their mother, was seen walking with friends by the caretaker. Unfortunately, the nanny did not intervene or contact anyone when she spotted Ryan, leaving the young boy unattended.

Severe, worried about his missing brother, searched tirelessly around Fort Lauderdale, including the school and local parks, but could not locate Ryan. It was only when a 911 call reported a child found at the bottom of a pool that the family’s worst fears were confirmed.

Upon arriving at the scene, where heavy police presence surrounded a home in Fort Lauderdale, the family was informed by officers that Ryan had been discovered in the pool. Despite immediate life-saving efforts by the authorities, Ryan could not be revived and was pronounced dead upon arrival at Broward Health Medical Center.

Neighbours in the area revealed that children often ask residents with pools for permission to swim, indicating a possible scenario where Ryan entered the backyard and the pool accidentally. The incident has left the community reeling, with neighbour Charlie Baity expressing deep sadness over the tragic event.

As investigations into the circumstances surrounding Ryan’s death continue, Severe has issued a poignant message to parents, urging them to ensure the safety of their children at all times. Emphasising the importance of personal vigilance and responsibility, Severe stated, “If you got your kids, don’t trust anybody with your kids. Make sure your kids get home safe from school because you never know what can happen.”

The family’s grief is palpable, as they come to terms with the loss of their beloved Ryan. The community stands in solidarity with them during this difficult time, offering support and condolences as they navigate through this heartbreaking ordeal..
