The tragic incident occurred following a clan meeting organized by the deceased, during which neighbours raised concerns about Okecha’s alleged involvement in multiple thefts, including the theft of solar panels and a woofer.

Henry Kisasi, a local resident, recounted that Okecha was confronted during the meeting and asked to explain his actions, which reportedly triggered a violent reaction. In a fit of rage, Okecha is said to have attacked his father with a machete, resulting in his untimely demise.
