Accident – Death – Obituary News :

In a heartbreaking incident that occurred in Barangay Talamban in Cebu City, a 10-year-old boy named Nathan Jade Villamor lost his life in a devastating fire that destroyed their family home in the early hours of Tuesday, June 4.

The fire broke out around 2 a.m. while Nathan was asleep, leaving him with no chance of escape. His mother had reportedly stepped out to run an errand, and his grandmother was at the Carbon Market at the time of the tragedy.

Nathan’s father, Chris Jade Rabutan, who is currently working in Manila following his separation from his wife, shared his shock and grief over the incident. In a phone call with reporters, he revealed that this was not the first time his son had been left alone in the house.

Rabutan recalled an earlier incident when he found Nathan crying while he was alone at home. He also mentioned instances when the boy was left unsupervised while his mother socialised with friends.

Authorities, led by Police Major Alvino Enguito of the Talamban police station, have promised a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fire. Enguito expressed concerns over the mother’s late-night absence, questioning the necessity of her leaving home at such an hour.

The cause of the fire remains unknown, and investigators are working to determine the factors that led to the tragic loss of young Nathan’s life. The estimated damage from the fire is around P300,000.

This heartbreaking incident serves as a reminder of the importance of fire safety and the need for responsible supervision, particularly when it comes to the welfare of children. Our thoughts and prayers are with Nathan’s family during this difficult time.
