Man Dies After Being Knocked Unconscious in Road Rage Fight
LEHI — Tragic news has emerged as a man who was involved in a road rage altercation has passed away, as confirmed by a family spokesperson.
The victim has been identified as 38-year-old Michael Brown, who was taken off life support at 5:39 p.m. yesterday, according to family spokesperson Greg Skordas.
The incident took place on Sunday afternoon when Brown reportedly cut off and brake-checked another driver, John Williams. This led to a confrontation between the two men, culminating in a physical altercation near 1300 West on Main Street in Lehi.
Witnesses at the scene recounted that both men exchanged blows during the fight, with Brown ultimately being knocked unconscious and falling onto the roadway. He was swiftly transported to the hospital in critical condition but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.
Meanwhile, Williams was apprehended by authorities on suspicion of aggravated assault in connection with the incident.
It is a devastating turn of events for the Brown family, as Michael Brown leaves behind his wife, Mandi Brown, and their two young sons aged 10 and 8, both of whom were present during the altercation.
The Lehi Police Department has issued a statement urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward and assist in piecing together the sequence of events leading to this tragic outcome. They have also emphasized the importance of maintaining composure and avoiding aggressive behaviour while driving, as road rage incidents can have severe and even fatal consequences.
A GoFundMe campaign has been established to support the Brown family during this difficult time.
