MITCHELL COUNTY, TX – In a dramatic turn of events on Friday morning, Mitchell County deputies were called to Interstate 20 at milepost 224 following a 911 call reporting a shooting incident involving a male victim.

The victim, identified as 47-year-old Kristopher Adams from Azle, Texas, was found at the scene with a single gunshot wound. Despite his injuries, Adams was in stable condition and able to communicate with law enforcement officers.

Adams was swiftly transported to Lubbock for medical treatment, where he is currently receiving care. In his statement to law enforcement, Adams provided crucial information that led to a statewide broadcast being issued to help locate a potential suspect.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic female with brown-black hair and tattoos on her right forearm. She was last seen wearing a blue shirt, black shorts, and a gray sweatshirt. Additionally, the suspect is believed to be driving a black 2012 GMC Yukon with Texas license plate number SXF2364.

The Texas Rangers have joined forces with the Mitchell County Sheriff’s Office to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident. Authorities are urging anyone with relevant information or who may have witnessed the event to come forward and assist in locating the suspect.
