Authorities in Jackson, Michigan have revealed the name of the victim in a tragic shooting incident that occurred on Griswold Street over the weekend.
According to a statement released by Jackson police on Tuesday, officers responded to reports of a shooting at a residence in the 400 block of Griswold Street on June 2 at approximately 9 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered a 17-year-old male, identified as Kalil Calunga-Rodriguez, who had sustained gunshot wounds near the back entrance of the property.
Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital for urgent medical treatment, Kalil tragically succumbed to his injuries. The young victim hailed from Lansing, Michigan.
Law enforcement officials are currently in the early stages of their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting. It is believed that the perpetrator fired at Kalil from a vehicle travelling eastbound on Griswold Street.
