RIVERSIDE COUNTY, Calif. – A man has been taken into custody for his alleged involvement in a shooting incident targeting passing vehicles, resulting in the death of one individual and injuries to another.

Incident Details

On June 3, authorities from the San Jacinto Sheriff’s Station received reports of gunfire in the vicinity of West Seventh Street and South San Jacinto Street at approximately 7 a.m. It was reported that a man was firing shots at cars passing by, resulting in damage to multiple vehicles and causing injuries to two individuals.

Unfortunately, despite being rushed to the hospital for medical attention, one of the victims, identified as 42-year-old Victor Hugo Leon, succumbed to his injuries.

Arrest and Charges

Following the tragic incident, homicide investigators took over the case and were able to apprehend the suspect responsible for the shooting spree. The alleged shooter, identified as 39-year-old Julio Cesar Rodarte, was arrested and subsequently charged with murder and ten counts of attempted murder.

Authorities are still trying to determine the motive behind the random acts of violence targeting passing vehicles.
