In a devastating turn of events, a 3-year-old boy named Julian Wood has tragically passed away after being stabbed at the Giant Eagle in North Olmsted, Ohio. The incident took place on Monday afternoon in the parking lot of the grocery store located on Lorain Road.
The young boy’s mother was also a victim of the stabbing, but her current condition remains undisclosed. North Olmsted police officers swiftly responded to the scene and managed to apprehend the suspect, identified as 32-year-old Bionca Ellis from Cleveland.
Mayor Nicole Dailey Jones of North Olmsted expressed her condolences, stating, “Our hearts go out to the two victims of what appears to be a random act of violence.” The community is left in shock and mourning over the tragic loss of a young life.
Giant Eagle released a statement acknowledging the incident and mentioned cooperation with authorities for further information. It is noteworthy that this is not the first time the store has been associated with a violent event, as a murder-suicide occurred on the premises back in June 2023.
Court records reveal that the suspect, Bionca Ellis, has a history of criminal activity, including a previous charge of theft from a Walmart in North Olmsted. Ellis was convicted of a lesser offense of unauthorized use of property in 2023.
