Irfan : “Police Arrest 2 in Ajmer for Gang-Raping & Blackmailing Minor”

The Rajasthan Police in Ajmer district have made arrests in connection with a disturbing case of gang-rape and blackmail involving a minor girl. The main accused, identified as Irfan, allegedly befriended the victim, a Class 11 student, through Instagram and proceeded to morph her pictures in order to blackmail her. This led to a horrifying incident where the victim was gang-raped by Irfan and his accomplices.

Statement From Official Sources

Station in-charge Arvind Charan has confirmed that the two accused individuals are currently in custody and are being investigated thoroughly. An SIT (Special Investigation Team) has been formed to delve into the case further, following the directives of Ajmer Range IG Lata Manoj Kumar.

Police sources have suggested that the accused may be part of a larger criminal network that targets school and college-going girls for blackmail and assault. Ajmer SP Devendra Vishnoi stated that the victim’s father has filed an FIR against Irfan, Arbaaz, and six others, accusing them of blackmail and gangrape. The case has been registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act on May 30.

Details of the Incident

According to the complaint, the victim was introduced to Irfan through a friend on Instagram in October 2023. Irfan manipulated the victim’s pictures and used them to extort money from her. The victim resorted to stealing money from her own home to meet Irfan’s demands.

In March 2024, Arbaaz accompanied Irfan when he came to collect money from the victim. Following the payment, Irfan proceeded to rape the girl and demanded an even larger sum. The accused have reportedly been associated with other school and college-going girls, prompting a wider investigation to identify potential additional victims.

Law enforcement authorities are also looking into the role of the friend who initially introduced the victim to the accused individuals. Raids are being conducted at various locations to apprehend any other individuals linked to the crime and to explore potential gang-related angles.
