Accident – Death – Obituary News :

On the morning of Sunday, June 2nd, Officer Enyart of the Plymouth Police Department responded to a report of a male individual exhibiting signs of intoxication while attempting to refuel a vehicle at 504 West Jefferson Street. The man, identified as Gary Mauricio Cespedes, aged 45 and from Knox, was reportedly staggering and emitting a strong smell of alcohol.

Upon further investigation by Officer Enyart, it was determined that Cespedes was indeed intoxicated, registering a blood alcohol level of .302 on a portable breath test. In addition to his high level of intoxication, it was discovered that Cespedes did not possess a valid driver’s license, and the Illinois vehicle registration found in the car he was attempting to refuel was suspended. Furthermore, the registered owner of the vehicle was not Cespedes.

As Cespedes was not observed operating the vehicle at the time of the incident, he was arrested for public intoxication. Following necessary clearance from a local hospital due to his elevated alcohol levels, Cespedes was taken into custody at the Marshall County Jail at 9:14 AM. Subsequently, the vehicle in question was impounded, and Cespedes was issued a cash bond of $255, with a court date scheduled for July 2, 2024.

It is important to note that all allegations against Cespedes are based on charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause, indicating a suspicion of criminal activity. However, it is crucial to remember that individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. They have the right to legal representation and a fair trial, where the prosecution must demonstrate proof beyond a reasonable doubt to secure a conviction.
