Authorities in Henry County, Alabama are conducting an investigation after the body of a missing woman was discovered earlier this week. The victim has been identified as 39-year-old Crystal Jarvis.

According to Sheriff Eric Blankenship of the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, the investigation began on Tuesday morning when officials received a report that Jarvis may be missing. The sheriff’s office immediately launched an effort to locate her, checking places where she was known to frequent as well as residences she was associated with.

Tragically, Jarvis’s body was found in the 2500 block of Calhoun Drive just before noon on Tuesday. The circumstances surrounding her death have not been disclosed at this time, but Sheriff Blankenship has confirmed that they have a person of interest in custody on unrelated charges.

As part of the investigation, Jarvis’s body has been sent to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
