DANBURY TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WJW) — Tragedy struck in Ottawa County on Monday as an elderly woman lost her life in a two-vehicle crash, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The incident took place at the intersection of SR-269 and Danbury Road North, where troopers responded to reports of a collision. Initial investigations revealed that an 81-year-old woman, identified as Beverly Sebastian of North Royalton, was driving a Cadillac SUV and failed to yield at a stop sign. As a result, her vehicle rolled into the path of a truck traveling north on SR-269.

Despite wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash, Sebastian sustained severe injuries and was rushed to Magruder Hospital. Unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries shortly after arrival. The driver of the truck, a 46-year-old man, suffered only minor injuries.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol stated that they do not suspect drugs or alcohol to have played a role in the collision. An ongoing investigation aims to determine the exact circumstances that led to the tragic accident.
