Accident – Death – Obituary News : A man was apprehended over the weekend for making threats towards the mother of his young child and absconding with her vehicle while the infant was still inside, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office. The unsettling incident transpired around 3:30 p.m. on Saturday when a woman returned to her car with her baby following a grocery shopping trip in the southern region of Sacramento. At that moment, her former partner and the father of her child, 33-year-old Terrell Marzetta, unexpectedly emerged.
The woman reluctantly agreed to give Marzetta a lift, as per the sheriff’s office. However, during the journey, he brandished a knife and made menacing threats towards her. Sensing danger, the woman swiftly pulled into a liquor store parking lot and fled the vehicle to seek assistance. Marzetta then drove away with the child still inside the car.
Fortunately, paramedics from the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District were present in the vicinity and witnessed the distressing events unfold. They promptly trailed Marzetta and informed county deputies of the unfolding situation. Marzetta drove a short distance to a nearby park where he abandoned the vehicle and absconded on foot. Despite a thorough search by deputies, Marzetta remained elusive.
On the following day, a deputy who had responded to the initial call spotted a suspicious vehicle near El Paraiso Avenue and Sampson Boulevard. Upon approaching the vehicle, the driver fled on foot, leaping over fences in an attempt to evade capture. The deputy identified the evader as Marzetta and requested reinforcement from additional deputies. With the assistance of K9 Jack, law enforcement officers located Marzetta concealed inside a van. He was apprehended without further incident.
Marzetta was subsequently taken into custody and transported to the Sacramento County Main Jail. He has been deemed ineligible for bail and is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday. Jail records indicate that he is facing charges of felony assault with a deadly weapon and a misdemeanor for resisting a police officer.
