The State Fire Marshal’s Office in Louisiana has launched an investigation following a devastating mobile home fire that resulted in the loss of two lives in New Iberia. The incident took place on June 2, at approximately 5:30 a.m.

Upon receiving the distress call, the New Iberia Fire Department promptly responded to the scene located in the 6400 block of Freetown Road. Tragically, the bodies of two victims, a man and a woman in their 50s, believed to be the married homeowners, were discovered amidst the rubble.

The fire marshal’s office has initiated a thorough investigation into the cause of the fire, and further details will be disclosed as the probe progresses.
