LONDON (ABC) — An 18-year-old from the northern suburbs has been identified as one of the individuals who tragically lost their lives in a fatal crash on the Eisenhower Expressway in Chicago on Sunday.

The tragic incident occurred at approximately 3:04 a.m. on Sunday in the westbound lanes of the Eisenhower Expressway near Damen Avenue.

Reports indicate that two vehicles were involved in the collision, although specific details surrounding the crash have not yet been disclosed.

Illinois State Police have confirmed that two individuals lost their lives in the crash, while three others sustained injuries.

According to ISP, at least one of the deceased individuals was a pedestrian at the time of the incident.

The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified Shealyn Sherwood, a resident of Hoffman Estates, as one of the individuals who tragically lost their life in the crash.

Emergency services rushed three injured individuals to a nearby hospital for treatment. The severity of their injuries remains unknown at this time.

Illinois State Police are currently conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash. Further details are expected to be released as the investigation progresses.
