YANKTON COUNTY, S.D. (KTIV) – Authorities in Yankton County, South Dakota, have made a grim discovery after locating the body of a man who went missing in late May.
On June 2, the Yankton County Sheriff’s Office received a call from a Nebraska boater who reported seeing a body in the Missouri River along the South Dakota shoreline. Responding quickly to the call, law enforcement officers located the deceased individual approximately a quarter mile to the east of the exit mouth of the James River.
The body was identified as that of 22-year-old Phillip Snoozy from Yankton, South Dakota. The tragic discovery has left the community in shock and mourning as they come to terms with the loss of a young life.
