PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. – Throughout the week of May 20, 2024, to May 26, 2024, the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were actively responding to various calls for service within the community, addressing a wide range of incidents. From welfare checks to criminal arrests, the deputies were kept busy ensuring the safety and security of the residents.

Some of the incidents reported during this week included:

  • Check Welfare / Mental Health – 70
  • Disorderly – 24
  • Domestics – 25
  • Motor Vehicle Crashes – 56
  • Patrol Checks / School Checks – 787
  • Suspicious Persons / Vehicles – 29
  • Traffic Complaints – 93
  • 911 Hang Ups – 82
  • ARRESTS – 51

Among the arrests made during this period, one notable incident involved Paul Darnell Gantt, 39, of Prince Frederick, who was charged with Second-Degree Assault and Robbery after assaulting a victim and throwing their phone into the woods.

Another significant incident was a burglary reported at Thursday’s Bar and Grill in Owings, where the front glass door was shattered, and the ATM was stolen along with other property damage at a nearby liquor store.

Additionally, several individuals were arrested for drug-related offenses, including Erica Marie Brooks, Brianna Stephanie Quarles, and McKinley Theodore Brooks, Jr., who were found in possession of various illegal substances.

In separate incidents, individuals like Bronzton Xavier Carrington and Joseph Carl Meade were arrested for drug possession and related offenses.

Further incidents of property destruction, theft, trespassing, and a kidnapping were also reported, leading to the arrest of individuals like Robert Allen Rice, Lionel Mackall Jr., Austin Page Catterton, and Travon Aronde Berry.

Moreover, the Sheriff’s Office also responded to reports of property destruction, theft, and DUI arrests during the same period, ensuring law enforcement and public safety in the community.
