Nagpur: In a concerning incident, the Rana Pratap Nagar Police arrested a 22-year-old man in the early hours of Monday morning for allegedly brandishing a sword near the Persistent Building in the IT Park area.
The suspect, identified as Nitin Ramesh Marke (22) and a resident of Galli No. 2, behind Telephone Exchange, Subhash Nagar, was apprehended following a swift response from Officer Shepoi Nikhil Sarjerao Ghonge and his team from the Rana Pratap Nagar Police Station.
Upon receiving reports of a man carrying a sword in the vicinity of IT Park, the police officers quickly arrived at the scene to find Marke reportedly threatening locals with the weapon. They managed to surround him, disarm him, and subsequently took him into custody at the Rana Pratap Nagar Police Station.
Marke now faces charges under Sections 4+25 of the Indian Arms Act, along with Sub Sections 135 of the Maharashtra Police Action. The authorities have launched investigations into the incident to determine the motive behind Marke’s actions and ensure public safety.
