On the evening of May 30th, a call to the Marshall County Dispatch Center reported a possible intoxicated driver in Plymouth. The incident occurred just before 7 p.m. and led to the arrest of a male driver.

Police Response

The Plymouth Police Department quickly responded to the call, which originated from 421 S. Michigan Street. The caller reported that a male driver, later identified as Nickolas Riley, 58, from Valparaiso, had pulled up behind them in a vehicle and seemed to be under the influence.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers found Mr. Riley stopped in the middle of the roadway. The officers immediately noticed a strong smell of alcohol emanating from the vehicle, indicating that Mr. Riley had been drinking and was highly intoxicated.

Arrest and Testing

As a result of their observations, Mr. Riley was placed under arrest and taken to the Plymouth hospital for a certified test. The test results revealed a blood alcohol content (BAC) level of .384, well above the legal limit.

Following the testing, Nickolas Riley was transported to the Marshall County Jail, where he was booked for driving while intoxicated with a prior conviction. It is essential to note that all individuals are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
