The All Women Police in Ambattur have apprehended a 30-year-old film producer accused of sexually assaulting a young woman who spurned his advances. The suspect, identified as Mohammed Ali, hails from Kolathur and operates an office in Keezh Ayanambakkam.
The arrest of Ali follows a complaint filed by a woman who joined his office last September. According to her statement, Ali initially displayed a friendly demeanor towards her but later began pressuring her into a relationship. Despite her refusals, he persisted in his advances, eventually resorting to spiking her drink and sexually assaulting her while she was unconscious.
Furthermore, the victim claimed that Ali recorded the assault and used it as leverage to silence her. He then proceeded to assault her again, resulting in her pregnancy. To cover his tracks, he allegedly administered an abortion pill under the guise of multivitamins. When the woman threatened to expose him, Ali resorted to threats of violence and extortion, coercing her to part with ₹5 lakh.
The All Women Police acted promptly upon receiving the complaint, registering a case against Ali under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code. The victim’s harrowing ordeal serves as a stark reminder of the prevalence of sexual abuse and exploitation in contemporary society.
