In a tragic incident, the body of a 60-year-old man was discovered near a nallah (rivulet) in the Mankote area of Mendhar in Poonch district on Monday.
According to official sources, the lifeless body of the sexagenarian was first noticed by passers-by at Balnoi nallah. Upon receiving the information, a team of police promptly responded and recovered the body at approximately 07:30 hours. The deceased was later identified as Mohammad Ayoub Malik, a resident of Balnoi.
A police official, confirming the incident, stated that necessary actions have been initiated and further investigations are currently underway to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the man’s untimely demise.
This unfortunate incident has left the community in shock and grief. The sudden loss of a community member has raised concerns and questions about the safety and security in the area.
