NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A man accused of attempting to burglarize a stranger’s vehicle in the parking lot of a popular Midtown restaurant has been apprehended by law enforcement officials.
According to court documents, the incident occurred on Saturday, June 1 at The Local Nashville restaurant situated in the 100 block of 28th Avenue North.
Authorities were alerted to the situation after receiving reports of a potential vehicle burglary at the restaurant. Upon their arrival, officers were informed by the victim that a man had entered her vehicle without permission.
Upon approaching the vehicle, officers observed the suspect reclining in the front seat. They promptly instructed him to exit the vehicle, leading to his subsequent arrest. The man, identified as 32-year-old Michael Bryant, was taken into custody by law enforcement officials.
The victim recounted to officers that Bryant had initially been loitering in the parking lot before following her to the back door of the restaurant as she exited her vehicle. In response, the victim sought refuge inside the building, locking herself in until law enforcement arrived.
During the arrest, it was revealed that Bryant was wearing the victim’s jean jacket and sunglasses. As a result of the incident, Bryant has been charged with felony motor vehicle burglary and indecent exposure. He is currently being held in custody on a $10,500 bond.
