Authorities in Queensland have confirmed that a tragic incident unfolded in Albany Creek, Brisbane, where a 46-year-old man shot his 77-year-old aunt multiple times before taking his own life. The man, identified as Martin Fowler, was a registered firearms owner.
Queensland Police are currently conducting an investigation after the bodies of the man and woman were discovered in a home on Jambaroo Street. Detective Acting Superintendent Craig Williams revealed that the police had previously visited the property several times in the days leading up to the tragic event.
According to reports from the Courier Mail, the deceased woman was the man’s aunt, and the investigation has revealed that he used a handgun registered to him to carry out the tragic act.

Detective Acting Superintendent Craig Williams refrained from commenting on the appropriateness of Mr. Fowler holding a firearms licence, emphasizing the tragic nature of the incident and the support being provided to the family.
The man’s mother, who was unharmed in the incident, is currently receiving treatment for shock and is cooperating with the police investigation. Queensland Police have assured the public that there is no ongoing threat to the community.
A neighbour, speaking to the Courier Mail, described the house as always being boarded up and secluded, with little interaction from the occupants. They mentioned instances of heated arguments and strange behaviour, adding to the mystery surrounding the residence.
