A tragic incident unfolded on the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Lancaster County, resulting in the death of a victim involved in a road rage shooting. The suspected gunman, a 59-year-old man from Virginia, was found lifeless in the cab of a white tractor-trailer, succumbing to a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The victim, a 40-year-old male from Royersford, Montgomery County, was shot in the head on Friday afternoon at mile marker 291.3 in Brecknock Township. Despite efforts to save his life, he passed away on Monday at a nearby hospital.

Pennsylvania State Police have identified the white tractor-trailer as a vehicle of interest in this tragic incident. The truck was located in a shopping complex parking lot on Crossings Boulevard in Caernarvon Township, Berks County, on Saturday.

Based on the evidence collected at the scene, authorities have determined that the deceased man from Virginia was the perpetrator of the shooting. The motive behind the attack appears to be linked to a road rage altercation that turned fatal.

Law enforcement officials are urging the public to come forward with any information that could aid in the investigation. The specific time and location of interest are the Turnpike eastbound from the Lebanon-Lancaster interchange to the area just past the Reading interchange between 12:45 and 1:15 p.m. on the day of the tragic event.
