On June 3, a heartbreaking incident shook the city of Mumbai, as the 27-year-old daughter of Indian Administrative Service officers of Maharashtra cadres tragically took her own life. The young woman, identified as Lipi, reportedly jumped from the 10th floor of their government accommodation at Nariman Point in south Mumbai in the early hours of the morning.
Despite efforts to save her, Lipi was rushed to the GT Hospital where she was pronounced dead. The daughter of Vikas Chandra Rastogi and Radhika Rastogi, Lipi was a student pursuing her LLB in Sonipat, Haryana. Sources suggest that she was under immense pressure regarding her academic performance, which may have contributed to her decision to end her life.
Authorities have confirmed that Lipi left a suicide note, expressing that no one else should be held responsible for her actions. The Mumbai Police have initiated an investigation into the matter, registering it as an unnatural death case at the Cuffe Parade Police Station.
