NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Authorities in Nashville have apprehended a man accused of touching a woman inappropriately at a WeGo bus terminal over the weekend.
The incident occurred on Sunday, June 2 at the WeGo bus terminal situated in the 400 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
As per court documents, law enforcement officers were dispatched to the area following reports of a man engaging in inappropriate touching towards a female individual.
The victim informed the police that the suspect fled the scene before their arrival. She recounted that she was seated on a bench on the 4th Avenue North side of the terminal when the man made unwelcome physical contact with her leg on multiple occasions.
Subsequently, the woman got up, moved to another bay within the terminal, and sought refuge with a witness. Despite her attempts to distance herself from the suspect, he persisted in following her to the bay and continued his inappropriate behavior.
An arrest report revealed that the suspect, identified as 39-year-old Kenneth Bell, proceeded to expose himself to the victim, prompting witnesses to intervene and protect her from further harm.
One of the witnesses corroborated the victim’s account and stated that Bell fled the scene upon hearing approaching police sirens.
Law enforcement officers located Bell in a nearby parking lot in the 500 block of 2nd Avenue North and took him into custody. He has since been charged with sexual battery, indecent exposure, and trespassing.
Booking records indicate that Bell is currently incarcerated on a $30,000 bond.
